Stuffed Karela Recipe

      


Here is a magical recipe prepared with BITTER GUARD which is not bitter. Well you will magically see how this bitter guard will turn into a delicious and mouthwatering dish. 

This dish is full of flavors and will comfort your palate. Try this at home and experience the magic of this dish 



Stuffed Karela Recipe Card

Ingredients for Stuffed Karela

- Bitter guard / karela - 1/2 kg
- Split Bengal gram / Chana Dal - 1/2 kg
- Onion - 1/2 kg
- Red Chilli powder- 1&1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
- Nigella sativa / Kalonji - 2 tsp
- Fenugreek seeds / Methi Dana - 2 tsp
- Cumin Seeds / Zeera - 1 tsp
- Dry Mango - 6 TO 8 pieces 
- Mustard oil - 4 tbsp 
- Salt to taste 
- Thread for Binding 

METHOD 


1. Clean Bitter Guard / Karela in running water and slit them in between, make them seedless and keep aside.

2. Soak Split Bengal gram / Chana Dal for at least 15 minutes 

3. Chop onions and keep aside.

4. Now take a bowl and put Split Bengal gram / Chana Dal , Onions and all the spices and mix it well.

5. Take 1 piece of Bitter guard / karela and fill it with the Split Bengal gram / Chana Dal preparation (STEP- 4) and bind it with thread. 

APPLY SAME METHOD ON ALL THE BITTER GUARD / KARELA.

6. Now take heavy base vessel and put all the filled up Bitter guard's / karela's and pour the rest of mixture above the Bitter guard / karela.

7. Pour Mustard Oil or any Refined Oil and a glass of water above it.

8. Put on flame and cook it until all the water evaporate and oil come up.


YOUR TASTY STUFFED KARELA IS READY TO EAT
